"Lack of Transparency and Unknown Number of Biolabs"

". . . we need to be aware about all of it. And honestly, most people don't know really where any biolabs are, right? In fact, there is no single website or tool at the moment that you can go to and accurately find where every public biolab is. It's not possible. I've looked hard. And there's a government accountability office document from 20 years ago that outlined that we had about 2,000 BSL-3 and BSL-4 labs across the U.S. - just the U.S. And again, that was 20 years ago, so I don't even know what the current estimates are going to be. You know, there's a few manuscripts and studies out there that say there's only hundreds of them, which directly contradicts that GAO document. And so we really don't know exactly how many there are. It's so hard to find that information. So, yeah, we really need transparency on where these labs are, what they're doing, what they have in their freezers . . ."
